LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry of Lincoln County is getting ready for its annual race.
“The Amazing Race Against Hunger” is coming up on Sunday, May 7, 3-5 p.m., in downtown Lincolnton, according to Christian Ministry Executive Director Mitzi Williams. It raises money to benefit the ministry’s LINC Home Meals delivery program. This week, Williams encouraged the public to check out the Website at www.christianministryoflincolncounty.org; to see the ministry’s Facebook page; or to call ministry spokeswoman Mimi Rhyne Mimi Rhyne at (704) 732-0383 for more details about the race.
In other news, ministry spokeswoman Angie Pooley informs that a soup kitchen volunteer is asking whether anyone has seen a large, heavy, black platter, accidentally left at the kitchen Feb. 23. It has sentimental value, and the owner is willing to offer a reward for its return. If you can help, call (704) 472-0128.
And Pooley added that the nursing home ministry now is up and running.
“We would like to invite any group that may be interested in celebrating the birthdays of our senior adults,” she said. “The birthday parties are normally scheduled between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. However, a Saturday may also be an option.”
If you’re interested in being a part of this ministry, call Williams at (704) 732-0383 or see the aforementioned Website. And re those all-important year-round donations, e-mail Williams at [email protected] if your donation is in honor of or in memory of someone, along with the name/address of whom to notify.
