LINCOLNTON––The recent spate of unseasonably warm weather probably has spring upon the minds of many.
With spring, of course, comes Easter. It’s not too soon to be thinking about that holy tide, which will be here before you know it.
And at Christian Ministry, the good folks there are already preparing Easter baskets. According to executive director Mitzi Williams, the group’s emergency services arm is seeking wrapped candy for Easter baskets. It also needs men’s medium-sized underwear. As well, the soup kitchen needs sugar and eggs.
And as Williams added Thursday, the LINC Meals program needs volunteer drivers for its First Presbyterian route on the third and fifth Friday of the month. Many local shut-in and elderly clients depend on this service to get hot meals. If you can help, call Mimi Rhyne at (704) 732-2691 or e-mail her at [email protected].
Talking of food, the soup kitchen needs volunteer coverage on March 11. The calendar for the rest of the year is open, and dates are now being taken to assign available volunteers for soup kitchen duties. If you’re interested, call the ministry and ask for Williams.
