LINCOLNTON––Looking for a place to volunteer your time in a worthy cause?
Well, look no further than Christian Ministry of Lincoln County. That’s the word Thursday from executive director Mitzi Williams.
“Christian Ministry is a great place for youth to come and volunteer a few hours a day,” said Williams.
Want to give your kids something helpful to do? Looking for a project for your church youth, social or civic group? If your group is interested, call Woody Saunders at (704) 488-8824 or e-mail him: christianministry.volunteers@gmail.com.
In other news, Williams said the ministry needs a driver for its LINC Meals in-home meal delivery service. This program serves a vital need for local elderly and shut-in residents. A driver is needed for the first West Lincoln-area route on one Tuesday and one Thursday each month. The second West Lincoln route needs a driver on the second Thursday of each month. The St. Luke’s route needs a driver on the third and fifth Monday.
Talking of food, the soup kitchen needs help, too. Williams informed that it needs volunteer coverage on Saturday, July 30.
“Please call the ministry at (704) 732-0383 if you would like to serve,” she added.
And farmers are needed to pick up produce and bread that cannot be given out to the public. Call Saunders at (704) 488-8824 for details.
Also, emergency services needs hair brushes and combs; men’s jeans in sizes 28, 30, 32 and 34; steel-toed boots and slip-resistant shoes; and men’s underwear.
And please update Christian Ministry if there are any changes with your church and/or church representative. Call administrative assistant Angie Pooley at (704) 732-0383. Or send your e-mails to christianministry1977@gmail.com.
“Thank you for keeping us up to date,” said Pooley.
