LOWESVILLE––The Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church Band and Dennis Cook will perform Jan. 22.
The Vineyard Church of Lowesville is the place to be for the 5 p.m. concert that Saturday, according to noted gospel singer and concert co-ordinator Carroll Cooke. And although the concert is free, as Cooke recently noted, a free-will offering will be taken up.
He also extolled the Stanley PHC Band and Cook.
“We’re looking forward to the seven-piece bluegrass band from Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church,” said Cooke. “They are a group of talented men who love Jesus and their music.
“Dennis Cook is from Athens, Ga.,” he added. “He will be singing only Elvis Presley gospel songs, and he does it well! This will be Dennis’s third time with us, and we love him in Lowesville.”
An award-winning singer and a noted minister as well, Cook is known for his hit, “Crying in the Chapel.” He has performed throughout the Southeast and in the Holy Land.
The Vineyard Church is located at 1062 NC-16 South in Lowesville, just down the road from Hill’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The church features Southern, bluegrass and/or acoustic gospel concerts every Saturday evening.
