LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry’s annual Christmas efforts have raised a record tally.
That’s the word Wednesday from executive director Mitzi Williams. Preparing for its yearly give-out of toys, food, clothes and more on Thursday (Dec. 23), she told The Herald that the ministry has brought in a total thus far of $142,588.52, breaking last year’s tally of some $132,000. That was then the record raised in all the ministry’s 44 years of operation, so this year’s numbers are even more remarkable, setting an even higher brand-new mark.
“It’s an all-time record,” said Williams. “Last year was a record, and the way we were able to pay out over $70,000, helping clients with rent and utilities!”
