Harold Dean Covington Sr.
September 19, 1945 - September 10, 2020

HICKORY, N.C. - Mr. Harold Dean Covington Sr., age 74, of Hickory transitioned on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Carolina Caring, Newton.

He was born in Catawba County on September 19, 1945 to the late Walt Flowers and Cathleen Covington. He graduated from Rosewald High School and also attended Lenoir-Rhyne University.

Survivors are his wife, Sandra Smith Covington of the home; eight sons, Scott Spencer, Harold Covington Jr., Marcus Covington, Kevin Covington, Jamar Covington, Mark Smith, Wilie Clark, Lance Clark; three daughters, Casondra Little, Holly Haggins, Sonya Clark; five brothers; and three sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 18, 2020 at 12 noon at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Due to COVID-19 everyone is asked to wear masks.

Ebony & White’s Funeral Service of Lincolnton, N.C. is serving the Covington family.
