Vicky Jean Tallent Leatherman
March 10, 1950 - September 8, 2020

CONOVER, N.C. – Vicky Jean Tallent Leatherman, of Conover, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

She was born March 10, 1950 in Lincoln County to the late Samuel Gene Tallent and Shirlene Houser Hipp. Vicky was previously employed by Hickory Chair, the Pioneer Company, and Family Coin Laundry. She is often remembered for her West Lincoln School of Dance, a youth program she taught in the early 1980s.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Samuel Robin Tallent.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons Bart Leatherman of Raleigh and Tyson Leatherman of Hickory; siblings Niles Tallent of Vale, Perry Tallent of Cherryville and Roxanne Tallent of Conover; grandchildren Kailyn Bowman and Ryder Bowman; nieces and nephews Holly Kiser, Jessica Barber, Lily Tallent, and Will Tallent.

An outdoor graveside service to celebrate Vicky’s life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Carolina Caring, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
