The NC Department of Transportation closed a bridge on NC273 near Dutchman's Creek in Mount Holly over the weekend as a safety precaution after flooding caused by heavy rains Thursday (Feb. 6th) damaged the structure.
NCDOT engineers inspected the bridge and found damage to an approach slab, warranting the closure.
While repairs are underway, drivers will have to detour along NC27 and NC16, before returning to NC273.
With favorable weather, repairs could take up to two weeks.
