The Lincolnton Christmas Parade marched down Main Street Sunday afternoon and was followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree on the Courtsquare.  For anyone who missed it, there's a photo gallery with this article.

Other parades will be happening this week.  Gastonia also held its Christmas Parade Sunday.  Belmont, Mt. Holly, Cramerton & Bessemer City in Gaston County have theirs later this week.

The East Lincoln Betterment Association's East Lincoln Christmas Parade will roll down Highway 16 Business from Hagers Ferry Road to the Captain's Cap Saturday (Dec. 7th) at 12:30.  Claremont and Kings Mountain also have their parades scheduled for Saturday and the Hardin community will have its parade next Sunday afternoon.  That's also the day for the parade in Casar.

This is the week the visits with Santa at Santa's House on the northeast Courtsquare and the carriage and wagon rides in downtown Lincolnton begin.

Both of these annual traditions happen Thursday-Saturday Dec. 5th-21st.

Visit with Santa at Santa's House from 5 - 8 PM (weather permitting). Carriage rides are $10 per person, wagon rides are $5 (children under two years old ride free); cash only and depart on alternating weeks from locations in the first and third blocks of E. Main St. 6:30 - 9:30 each evening (also weather permitting).

This Thursday and Friday, December 5th and 6th, Lincoln County Senior Services, 612 Center Drive (Town & Country Shopping Center) will hold a handmade craft bazaar 9 – 3 both days. Besides crafts, they'll also have a hot dog sale and bake sale.

While Cherryville's parade isn't until the next Saturday (Dec. 14th),  Cherryville will have its A Very Cherry Who-Ville Christmas on Main Street 5 - 9 PM Friday (Dec. 6th).

Other Holiday events this week include "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever"--a presentation of the East Lincoln High School Chorus and Theatre group, Friday and Saturday (Dec. 6th & 7th) at 7 PM and Sunday (Dec. 8th) at 2 PM in the East Lincoln Black Box Theater. Tickets are $7.

The Lincoln Theatre Guild will present the classic Christmas play "Miracle on 34th Street" at the Cultural Center Friday and Saturday (Dec. 6th & 7th) at 7 PM and Sunday (Dec. 8th) at 3 PM; and will reprise those performances the weekend of Dec. 13-15 at the same times. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and students. To order tickets online: https://www.lincolntheatreguild.net/buy-tickets

The United Way of Lincoln County will hold its 3rd annual Christmas Gala Friday (Dec. 6th) 6 - 9 PM at Trilogy, 7505 Highway 73. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased on their website http://unitedwayoflincolncounty.org/. There will be a $500 cash raffle, food and drinks, live music, and a silent auction.

Breakfast with Santa happens Saturday (Dec. 7th) at the Lincoln Cultural Center 9 AM - noon.  A $10 donation admits two adults and one child. Snap a photo with Santa, have breakfast and leave with a treat. Advance tickets are available at the Lincoln Cultural Center, 403 E. Main St., Lincolnton.

There will not be a Crouse Christmas Parade this year. Instead, the Crouse VFD Ladies Auxiliary will have a Christmas Festival Saturday (Dec. 7th) at the Crouse Community Building, 2322 Boy Scout Road. See the ad on the Lincoln Herald home page for more info.
