LINCOLNTON, N.C. – The Lincoln County Courthouse located in downtown Lincolnton will be closed Monday, July 6 and Tuesday, July 7 for cleaning. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Lincoln County is taking measures to ensure the safety of its employees and citizens by allowing for a deep cleaning of the courthouse.
Anyone needing to file emergency documents with the Lincoln County Clerk of Superior Court can do so by dropping them off at the designated alternate filing location located inside the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at: Lincoln County Magistrates Office – Annex, 700 John Howell Memorial Dr., Lincolnton, NC 28092; 704-742-7819.
“As COVID-19 continues to impact Lincoln County, we must make every effort to maintain a safe environment for employees and citizens alike. After consultation with the Lincoln County Health Director and the Board of Commissioners, we made the decision to close the courthouse for cleaning. While these types of disruptions are frustrating, they are necessary to ensure the safety of all,” says Kelly Atkins, the Lincoln County Manager.
The Lincoln County Courthouse will resume normal activity and operations on Wednesday, July 8.
