LINCOLN COUNTY SCHOOLS
High school graduation ceremonies will be held on May 29, 2020 and/or May 30, 2020 while adhering to the Governor’s Executive Order #121 and the graduation guidelines received from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Each high school will communicate specific ceremony details to the Class of 2020 and their families as relevant to graduation. Please continue to monitor each high school’s webpage and social media sites for graduation information.
Lincolnton High--May 29, 2020 and May 30, 2020, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

East Lincoln High--May 29, 2020 and May 30, 2020, 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM

North Lincoln High--May 29, 2020, 7:30 PM

Traditional graduation ceremonies will be held at each high school stadium on July 31, 2020 or August 1, 2020 pending any Executive Order restrictions that may be in place at that time. Additional details will be provided to the Class of 2020 and their families at a later date.
FREE MEALS TO-GO
As of May 19, 2020, the Lincoln County Schools Child Nutrition Department has served 345,000 meals by offering the Grab and Go Feeding Program. Sites are open Monday through Friday and are sending weekend meals on Fridays.
Memorial Day Meals: Friday, May 22, 2020, students will receive their meals for the day along with meals for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. LCS will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2020 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday and will reopen on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
Parents that need help finding a site close to them can text FOODNC to 877-877 or visit the Nokidhungrync.org/covid19/ website.
All feeding sites are drive-through only. Parents may go to any school offering these free meals. Parents are not required to go to the school their child attends to pick up meals. We are encouraging the community to take advantage of the Free Meals To-Go program at the eight designated school locations.

May 22, 2020 was the last day of Remote Learning for LCS students. Due to the COVID-19 school closures, the following grading guidelines are in effect:
• Students in grades K-5 will not receive a final grade on their report card but will receive feedback about their academic progress for the school year.
• Students in grades 6-8 will receive a PC19 (Pass) or WC19 (Withdraw) on their report card and will receive feedback about their academic progress for the school year.
• Students in grades 9-11 will receive a PC19 (Pass) or a WC19 (Withdraw) and will have the option to choose their numerical grade:
o A PC19 or WC19 will not be calculated in the GPA but the numerical grade will be calculated in the GPA.
o 5 points will be added to third quarter grades for participation in At-Home Learning.
o Parents/students will receive a letter with the report card with details on how to choose the PC19 or numerical grade.
o Students will have 45 days from the first day of school during the 2020-2021 school year to choose the grade.
• Students in grade 12 will receive a PC19 (Pass) or WC19 (Withdraw) based on their 3rd Quarter grade.
• Student promotion and retention will be decided by the school principal and teacher.
Report Cards will be available the first week of June.
Pursuit Church, Denver continues their weekly delivery of food bags with 200 this week. The Sunrise Rotary Club of Lincolnton members not only have volunteered packing bags but have also donated $1,750.00 to purchase food for families in need. Our food bag distribution will begin winding down at the end of the month. During the summer months, food bags will be provided for those families in emergent situations. Families are encouraged to share their need with their home school and food will be provided during the summer months.
PUBLIC WIRELESS ACCESS
Exterior public wireless access is available at all school sites. A one-page map and information sheet that shows the network name and where to access the service on each campus is available on individual school websites, the Lincoln County Schools Facebook page, and at www.lcsnc.org under Community Resources.
