ALEXIS --- Tri-County Animal Rescue Pet of the Week is this beautiful Chihuahua named Scrapples. This little girl is 5 years old and weighs 10 pounds. Scrapples has a lovely tan/white coat. The grooming for Scrapples is very simple…bath and brushing. She will not get any larger. Scrapples is spayed, current on vaccines and micro-chipped. Come on out…we will be looking for you.
Chihuahuas are comical, entertaining, and loyal little dogs. They are absolutely brimming with personality – often a quirky and eccentric personality unmatched by any other breed. Chihuahuas do seem to recognize and prefer their own breed, so it's a great idea to keep two of them. They keep each other company when you're gone, they play together, clean each other's ears (Chihuahuas can be obsessive ear-lickers!), and keep each other warm by snuggling together.
Chihuahuas adore warmth! They will seek out the tiniest sunspot in which to bask, and they tunnel under blankets and towels. You have to be careful whenever you sit down on your sofa or bed, as there could be a Chihuahua tucked under there!
If you want a dog that: is small and easy to carry, comes in several different coats and colors, is oh-so-funny and entertaining in quirky ways, is very loyal, travels well, doesn't need much exercise, LOVES warm sunny climates, usually has a long lifespan…..then a Chihuahua may be right for you!
PUPPY PET OF THE WEEK --- Tri-County Animal Rescue Puppy of the Week is a beautiful Chihuahua/Terrier mixed pup named Blue. He is 9 months old and weighs under 15 pounds. The grooming for this pup is very simple…bath and brushing. Blue will stay small as an adult. He is full of active puppy energy. Blue has the cutest underbite! He loves everyone and loves other dogs. Blue is neutered, current on vaccines and micro-chipped. Come on out…we will be looking for you.
It is a delightful experience to have a terrier mix dog at home. Terriers are brave, mischievous, energetic, active, fearless, independent, playful, and cheerful. You may come across a variety of terrier dog breeds with different genetic makeup. Their characteristics may also vary slightly, as one of their parents belong to a different breed.

BIG DOG PET OF THE WEEK --- The Tri-County Animal Rescue BIG DOG Pet of the Week is this Labrador Retriever mix named Cleve. He is 5 years old, good with people and other dogs. Cleve loves both inside and outside. He would love a big yard for playtime. Cleve came to us from a local county run shelter. He had been hit by a car and suffered a badly broken leg. Cleve had surgery on his leg and is fully recovered. He has lots of energy and doesn’t even remember which leg was injured. Cleve is neutered, current on vaccines and micro-chipped. Please give this big boy a chance to become part of your family! He will be looking for you this weekend.
If you are looking for an addition to your family, please come out and meet our adoptable pets this weekend. Many pets will be at the Gastonia PetSmart located at 3698 East Franklin Boulevard this Saturday noon to 6 p.m.
