  • The Wolves lost on a walk-off single to Bunker Hill  in the bottom of the 7th inning. Will Blackburn pitched 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Karson Cloninger pitched 1/3 of an inning in relief. Jacob Driggers had 2 hits, Nate Hovis had 2 hits, Karson Cloninger had one hit and 2 rbi's and Camden Wray had one hit and an RBI for Lincolnton.

Bandys 11, West Lincoln 0

  • Easton Ledford knocked in three runs and Colby Edwards & Dominic Robinson two apiece as the Trojans rapped out 10 hits.  Cade Spencer got the win on the mound, striking out 9 batters over four innings.

East Lincoln 15, Forestview 0

  • Trey Spees went 3 for 4, had a double and a home run; Kaden Scott also homered, and Carson Dahle got the win on the mound for the Mustangs in the game shortened to five innings by the one-sided score.  Dahle struck out 7 of the 11 batters he faced.  Evan Matile pitched one inning and struck out all three Jaguars batters.

  • Josh Swink & Sean Jenkins teamed for a stellar mound performance striking out 19 of the 25 batters they faced; Swink had 16 strikeouts in five and two-thirds innings, Jenkins got the other three. Swink allowed the Panthers only three hits and walked only one batter. 

WEDNESDAY March 8th
Lincolnton 26, Statesville 1

  • It was like batting practice as the Wolves scored 26 runs.  Jacob Driggers, Lee Johnson, Caleb Deaton, Andre Bost, Caden Smith, Davian Johnson and Will Blackburn led the hitting attack; on the mound, Driggers started and pitched one and two-thirds innings, Jesus Antonio went an inning and a third--allowing the Greyhounds' only run, Same Houser went one inning in the game shortened by the one-sided score.

North Lincoln 7, Forestview 3

  • The Knights evened their season record at 2-2. 

THURSDAY March 9th
Cherryville 6, East Lincoln 3

  • A two-run homer by William Fowler and 2 for 2 batting including a double by Brayden Reynolds helped the Ironmen, who took advantage of eight bases on balls by four Mustangs pitchers. Eli Newsome got the win on the mound, striking out 8 of the 16 batters he faced in four innings.

Hickory 5, Maiden 4

  • Hunter Townsend went 2 for 3, had a double and batted in all four of the Blue Devils' runs, but Maiden got only five hits off two Hickory pitchers.  

Lincoln Charter 11, SouthLake Christian 3

  • Jacob Smith & Matt Cipriano each homered.  Cipriano pitched four innings and struck out six, but it was Tyler Steele who got the win, striking out 7 in three innings.

East Burke 4, Bandys 3

FRIDAY March 10th
Newton-Conover 12, Lincolnton 5

  • For LHS, Garett Hedgepeth had three hits; Jacob Driggers, Karson Cloninger and Will Blackburn had one hit each.  Cloninger had a 2 RBI double.

Maiden 4, West Lincoln 3

  • Hunter Townsend didn't have a hit--but his bat produced a fielder's choice that scored two runs and he scored one run as the Blue Devils scored three runs in the first inning in the game at West Lincoln.  Tyler Hedgepeth was the winning pitcher, holding the Rebels to just three hits over six and two-thirds innings; he struck out seven while walking just two.

  • Tanlee Eley 2 for 3, Karlie Williams 3 for 4...Winning pitcher: Eley--allowed 5 hits while striking out 5, walked only two

TUESDAY March 7th
Lincolnton 18, Bunker Hill 10

  • It took a couple of extra innings, but LHS got its second win and won its conference opener at Bunker Hill. A sharp eye helped LHS to the win as Lincolnton collected 9 walks to go with a dozen hits.  Brooklyn Johnson batted 2 for 5, score two runs and knocked in three. Tanlee Eley went 3 for 4, batted in five runs and scored 3.  She also stole a base; and while the Bears scored 10 runs, just three of them were earned.  Eley struck out five batters and walked just two.

Bandys 7, West Lincoln 2

  • The Trojans had 10 hits, three of them by Jessie Sipe who went 3 for 4.  She and Avery Alexander, Owyen Lyall, and Haven Helton all had an RBI and scored a run.  For West Lincoln, Gracie Elmore's double was one of only four hits.  Ellie Hale got the win pitching, walking just three and striking out 8.

  • Macy Michael batted 3 for 4 including a home run, Avery Waddell was 3 for 4 including two doubles, Tristan Smalling had two rbi's; Smalling & Madison Helms allowed just 4 hits, Helms got the win striking out five in four innings and walking none

  • Tristan Smalling batted 2 for 4 and had two rbi's. She also pitched four innings; Reagan Rembert teamed with Smalling for the win, which gave the Blue Devils a 2-0 conference mark, 3-1 overall.
  • For West Lincoln, Chloe Norman batted 2 for 4 including a double.
