High school athletes saw their 2019-2020 school year cut short and many of them who participated in Spring sports didn't get the opportunity this year. For some, it would have been their senior season.
Tug Deason, Stanley Recreation Director, Levi Summey, senior class president, and East Gaston High School Athletic Director Ryan Resendez got help from the Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church to recognize those senior athletes Friday evening (May 8th).
The Recreation Department brought a big 20 ft. x 20 ft. screen to the parking lot of the PHC on N. Main St. A slide presentation showed some of the athletes who would have been the heroes of Spring sports.
Photographer Bill Ward was there and provided us with these photos.
