South Fork Soccer All-Conference

The 2019 soccer season came to an end on Saturday as the East Lincoln Mustangs lost for the first time this year in the NCHSAA 2A state championship match at Cary, NC. The Mustangs finished the year with a 27-1 record, won the South Fork Conference and regional championships, and have now placed five players on the All-Conference list released Monday (Nov. 25th).

Chase Gilley, who led his team and the conference with 61 goals and 156 assists, was named the South Fork Offensive Player of the Year. His twin brother Logan was also named All-Conference. He had 56 goals and 141 assists for the season.

Other East Lincoln players named All-Conference were:
Pearson Cunningham, Noah Graden & Tyler Swanson. Jon Joplin of Newton-Conover was named the Defensive Player of the Year and the Red Devils' coach, Angelo Palozzi was named the Coach of the Year.

In addition to Joplin, the Red Devils also placed Noel Fong, Drew Danner and Salvador Ruelas on the All-Conference list.

Selections from Lincolnton were Jose Garcia, Daniel Salazar, Mason Whitaker and Francisco Rodriguez.

North Lincoln's All-Conference players were Ian Fiore, Nate Brown, Carter Sliwoski and Samari Collins.

West Lincoln's Hunter McCraw, Damien Vixaysak from Maiden, Macauley Bulen and Seaver Hubbard from Bandys, and Brandon Webster and Adam Eichman from Lake Norman Charter were also named All-Conference.
