On Monday (Dec. 20th) investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division initiated a burglary investigation based on allegations that Terry Kenneth Ross, Jr. had broken into a local residence and stolen items.
Executing a search warrant at Ross’s residence on Winebarger Street in Conover, the Catawba County Special Tactics and Response (STAR) Team and the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division discovered a pound of methamphetamine, a large amount of currency and an illegal firearm. Stolen property from the burglary was also recovered.
Ross was charged with 1st degree burglary, felony larceny, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine, and possession of a weapon of mass destruction. Ross was jailed under a $200,000 secured bond on the burglary and larceny charges and a $190,000.00 secured bond on the narcotics and weapons charges. He was scheduled for a first appearance in Catawba County District Court on Dec. 30th.
