On Tuesday evening (Dec. 21st) at approximately 6:30, the NC State Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle accident in Catawba County on Bolton Road near Hudson Chapel Road. A 2005 GMC Sierra was traveling north on Bolton Road, ran off the road to the right in a curve, traveled down an embankment, and overturned into a creek. The driver, Todd Martin Bradshaw, 57, of Hildebran, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
A young Gastonia man died in a three-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon (Dec. 18th) on Hudson Blvd. 22-year-old James Billy Darrell Brown was driving his 2006 Nissan 350Z east on Hudson Blvd. at a high speed. He collided with a GMC Sierra truck that in turn hit a car waiting to make a left turn. The occupants of the two other vehicles were less seriously injured, but Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.
