Shopping For Christmas

Lincoln Herald Staff
lh@lincolnherald.net

Four out of five consumers shop online for holiday gifts, and most of them shop on Amazon.  While 78% of consumers shop online for gifts, 46% shop only online.  67% of all consumers shop on Amazon for holiday gifts, followed by 48% who shop on Walmart.com and 34% for all other websites.

There is no doubt that the pandemic has had a significant effect on Americans' buying habits.  But if you don't care to make Jeff Bezos richer and if you want a selection of gifts you won't find online, a couple of local events this weekend will be a great place to shop.

The Lincoln Cultural Center has had its Handmade for the Holidays for the last seven years.  This year, their eighth, they're holding it at the James W. Warren Citizens Center.  Friday from 3 -9 and Saturday from 9-3, you can browse for gifts including pottery, woodcrafts, jewelry, candles, handmade soaps, holiday decorating items, and more offered by 54 vendors.

Also this Saturday, it's the Small Business Holiday Sale at the Kid's Dome on Highway 27 West.  That happens Saturday from 8 till noon.
