Maybe it's the improving economy--after all, many businesses were shut down a good part of last year due to the pandemic. Maybe it's inflation--because prices are higher than they were a year ago. Whatever the reason, retail sales in all area counties are substantially higher so far this year--topping last year's month-to-month figures in every month so far.
