Witnesses told officers a small group of people were hanging out at a residence on Harmon Road and Combs and Whitlock began texting each other with threatening texts. Eventually Whitlock asked Combs his location and he and another individual drove to the Harmon Road location for an arranged fight. The two people argued briefly and got into an altercation. During the altercation Combs was stabbed multiple times and Whitlock got up and quickly drove away.

Whitlock was located at his girlfriend’s house and arrested. After searching an area of Hallman Road, Lt. A. Manns and his K-9 were able to locate the knife that had been used in the fight and then tossed into a wooded area. He is charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He is in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
Investigating officers were Detective J. Talbot, Patrol Sgt. P. Finger, and patrol deputies C. Hallman, J. Woodward and J. Ray.
