Hickory Police Department Press Release
A 44-year-old Boone man, Chad McDaniel Byrd, has been arrested in connection with multiple breaking and entering cases in the downtown area of Hickory.
Byrd was charged with seven counts of Felony Breaking and Entering , two for Larceny After Breaking and Entering, four counts of Injury to Personal Property, Felony Possession of Cocaine and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia by the Hickory Police Department. He was also served with four outstanding warrants for Breaking and Entering in Caldwell County.
Byrd was jailed at the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $150,000 secured bond.
Security camera video helped police identify the suspect. The businesses had doors and windows shattered during the incidents. They included Professional Cleaners at133 3rd ST NW; Brahma Graphx, at 20 2nd ST SW and Taste Full Beans Coffeehouse, at 29 2nd ST NW. All were broken into between 8:00 and 10:00 pm on Friday January 15th.
Police are investigating additional breaking and entering cases that took place in the downtown Hickory area. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hickory Police Department at 828-328-5551.
