Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Press Release
LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A traffic stop in eastern Lincoln County has led to the arrest of a Stanley, N.C. woman on drug and stolen property charges.
On November 18, 2020 around 1 p.m. Deputy D. Hendrix was traveling south on New NC 16 Highway when he got behind a pickup truck with no license plate on the vehicle. The driver made several turns before the officer could conduct a traffic stop on NC 73 Highway near the entrance to Hunters Bluff Drive.
The deputy made contact with the driver, Jessica Lynn Foreman, 37, of Sherrill Drive, Stanley, N.C. He informed the driver she was being stopped because the vehicle did not have a license tag. Foreman also didn’t have a valid driver’s license. Deputy Hendrix observed drug paraphernalia on the passenger seat and asked the driver if there was additional syringes and drugs in the vehicle.
Officers searched the vehicle and found additional drug paraphernalia, clear plastic baggies and methamphetamine. He also found a Taurus 9mm handgun in the center console. The handgun was reported stolen out of Spartanburg, S.C..
Foreman was transported to the Lincoln County magistrate’s office where she was charged with felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen property, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of an open container of alcohol. She was given a $20,000 secured bond and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center.
