Office Press Release

LINCOLNTON – A traffic stop on Reepsville Road on November 29 has led to the arrest of two people on a number of charges including possession of a stolen vehicle. The traffic stop occurred in the 2800 block of Reepsville Road after deputies noticed the license plate light on the red in color Nissan truck was not working.

Deputy D. Hendrix asked the driver and passenger to step out of the vehicle and that is when he noticed a glass pipe in the center console cup holder. Deputies Hendrix and M. Farra checked the license plate on the vehicle which came back as registered to a Jeep. Deputies then checked the vehicle identification number of the truck and learned it was reported stolen in Shelby, N.C.

A search of the vehicle turned up a multi-colored zippered pouch which contained a large number of syringes, a metal container, and another glass pipe. Inside the metal container were several baggies containing marijuana, methamphetamine and heroin. Shelby Police had the vehicle towed to a storage area where it will be processed.
