I have some good news!
The consensus revenue forecast released recently illustrates the economic growth in our state over the last year. The forecast shows that the state has a one-time $3.25 billion surplus.
I think the strength of these forecast numbers emphasizes that we continue to be on the right track after continued years of both tax reform and spending restraints by the House and Senate.

I am excited to share that applications are now available for the 2023 NC House Page Program. This is a great opportunity for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to learn firsthand about and participate in the legislative process. To learn more and apply visit https://www.ncleg.gov/House/PageProgram/.
I was a co-sponsor of House Bill 50 which calls for the repeal of antiquated and redundant pistol permits. The pistol permit law being repealed, should this bill become law, is a holdover from the early 20th century, (1919 to be exact), and similar laws have been repealed in every other Southern state.
As always, if you need any help from my office, please feel free to reach out to my Legislative Assistant, Angela Morando at [email protected] or you can call my office at 919-733-5782.
