Bad Does Not Mean Permanent

Judge Rembert
Guest Columnist

She walked around in her yard...
She worked hard in her yard...
Flowers were blooming in many colors...
Actually, lots a different types of flowers...

Not all flowers bloom the same...
Even if they are the same type a flower...
Sometimes a flower is prettier...
Prettier than the same flower next to it...

1 - Jackie Dameron Farm Bureau

Sometimes the color is prettier in one...
Prettier than the other flower...
Some flowers bloom early...
Some bloom late...
Some smell wonderful...
Some just smell...

Some flowers make you sneeze...
Some flowers make you itch...
Some flowers give people headaches...
Some are just beautiful...
Some are beautiful and still make you sick...

Some flowers take a lot a care...
Some flowers just grow wild...
Some flowers will only grow in certain places...
Some flowers require attention 24 x 7...

Some flowers replant themselves...
Some flowers require human help...
Some flowers want to take over the yard...
Some quietly just come back slowly...

Well maybe people are like flowers...
Not all people are alike...
Not all people are good...
Not all people are bad...
Not all people are smart...
Not all people are mean...
But people are the lucky ones...

An Iris cannot change into a Tulip...
A Pansy cannot decide to be an Iris...
BUT a human can change...
A mean person can become a good person...
A bad person can change into a kind person...

Lately the world seems to have forgotten...
Forgotten that love is a powerful tool...
Love and kindness can change us all...
But we have to give it a change...

Look around and notice...
Try kindness and caring...
Try to remember that one bad apple does not...
Does not mean the tree is rotten...
One bad tree does not mean the forest is rotten...
One bad deed does not deserve...
Deserve another worse deed...

More About Judge Rembert: WWII made Judge an only child when her half-brother was killed in the war. She lived in a tiny town in South Carolina until she was eight and her Mother went to work. She was sent to a boarding school in Belmont, N.C. From that time on she has lived back and forth in the two Carolinas. They are both home. She was born dyslexic and did not know what the problem was or that it had a name until she was about 45. She was unable to spell so she never put words on paper until she was 65 and had a computer with spell check. She comes from a long line of story tellers and a Mother that taught her much by telling stories. Stories about people and how they faced life and how they dealt with problems. If you read what she writes you may hear her Mother and her Grandmother talking to her. She is thrilled to know that anyone reads her words and finds them interesting. Oh, she is 75 now and she now makes her home in Aiken, S.C. If you like Judge’s writings or would like to comment on them let her know by emailing judgerembert@bellsouth.net.
