Where Do You Want To Be In 3, 6, Or 12 Months?

Marty Reep, Author
Speaker, Forward-Thinker

Is what you’re doing, today, what you want to be doing a year from now? If so, that’s phenomenal! Keep doing what you’re doing. Keep your eye on the prize.

If not, then start doing what you want to be doing in the future. Or, at least, start working on some of the components that make up what it is that you want to do. If you keep putting off what you really want to do until “some day,” it will probably never happen.

No plan is perfect, but having a plan is better than not having one at all. Living your life the way you want to live it does not happen by chance or coincidence. It happens by having a plan; working that plan; making course corrections as you go; and being excited about your progress.

Like a friend used to tell me, “If you fail to plan, then you have planned to fail. It’s that simple.” It’s sort of like the idea that if you don’t “know where” you want to wind up, you will most likely wind up “nowhere”. So, which is it that you want: to know where, or to be nowhere?

Likewise, here are some other things to think about: Which lifestyle brings you the most peace? Which one produces a deeper sense of purpose in your life? What would you enjoy doing, even if you never earned anything for doing it?

Have you ever thought, “I’ll work toward my dreams tomorrow”, and then everything in the world seems to break loose from its hinges at home or at work? Spiritual people would say that’s the devil throwing darts at you, trying to derail your plans. Pragmatic people would say that the law of large numbers is just shifting its average on you, toward a down slope. The karma side would say you were due for it for something you did in your past. However you choose to look at it, life happens – BUT, you have the power within you and around you to keep working toward your goal and your dream.

Again, I ask…and this is just you and me talking with each other, right now…where do you want to be in 3, 6, or 12 months from today? Write it on a piece of paper, burn it into your mind’s eye, or pin a reminder somewhere you will see it in the morning, during the day, and at night before you go to sleep.

Focusing on, repeating aloud, and putting energy toward your goal will make you cut out the wasted time in your day. It will also show God and people around you that you are sincere about your intent of using your life for something greater than yourself. When you do those things, heaven and earth will come to your aid. They will show up “suddenly” and provide the assistance you need, when you need it.

By making your dream a concrete idea in your mind and on paper, it will be easier to get where you want to be 3, 6, or 12 months from now.

I would love to hear what your goals are and help you work toward them. Blessings!
